PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR GLOBAL LEEDS FANS FOR 25 YEARS
Official Site | Archived Site | Twitter Feed | MOT Forum
LUFCWEB (aka Doctor Gary's Leeds United Website) first appeared online in 1995 at a time when there was no Official Leeds United Site, and no social media or smartphones.

It provided news, trivia, jokes, and quizzes, as well as a chat forum, and was the hub of the "Leeds United Web Ring", a collection of the best Leeds United Sites at the time.

Given there now exists a plethora of online resources for fans, LUFCWEB has been scaled down, but you might occasionally see information here that you won't see elsewhere.

Thank you for being with us for the past quarter of a century!

2019
We all know that Red Bull have been courting Leeds United for years, and now have a minority stake and shirt sponsorship deal. Beyond Jesse Marsch coming from Red Bull Leipzig in 2021, are you aware of the many connections that he and his earlier club, New York Red Bulls (RBNY) have with Leeds United?

Read on for more...

2019
JESSE MARSCH

Jesse was appointed at RBNY and immediately led them to win the MLS Supporters' Shield, a club record 18 league victories & 60 points, and was named the MLS Coach of the Year.

Long before that though, as a DC United Player in 1997, Jesse played against Leeds in a 1-1 draw at RFK Stadium. Yours truly was at the game - see the Leeds goal here

2019
CHRIS ARMAS

You may have first heard of Chris Armas when he was appointed as interim assistant coach at Scum in 2021/2. Before that, he was assistant coach to Jesse at RBNY, and supersceded Jesse as head coach after Jesse's move to Europe, winning the Supporters' Shield again for RBNY in his first year as head. He wasn't at RBNY for long, and his stint at Leeds was next to non existant.

2019

TYLER ADAMS

Tyler hails from Wappingers Falls, New York, and was a homegrown player of the New York Red Bulls academy, turning professional with RBNYII reserve team as a sixteen-year-old before joining RBNY first team a season later

His debut for RBNY was a friendly match against Premier League champions Chelsea, where He scored the second goal of the match in a 4-2 victory

2019

JACK HARRISON

Jack never played for RBNY, but his debut as a New York City FC player was against them in the "Red Wedding" game, in which Jesse Marsch's team won 7-0

The game also featured two ex-Leeds players (can you name them?), and yours truly was of course there

Highlights can be watched here

2019

THIERRY HENRY

We all know about Thierry Henry's prolific career at Arsenal, but he played for RBNY from 2010 to 2014. In the midst of this, for 2 months in 2012, he resigned for Arsenal. On his second Arsenal debut, he scored the lone winning goal against, of all teams, Leeds United in the FA Cup third round

Thanks a bunch Thierry!

PLAYED FOR BOTH

OK, can you name these two who played for both but moved in the opposite direction compared with Tyler?

You might recognize them if you watched the Red Wedding highlights

2019
They are none other than Lloyd Sam (upper) and Mike Grella (lower)

Click here for a bonus clip of Grella megging Fat Frank Lampard in the New York Derby

Thank you both for your service to both teams!
